THE ADOPTER MUST THOROUGHLY READ AND AGREE TO ALL TERMS OF ADOPTION. TERMS OF ADOPTION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
The Adopter Agrees to:
- I agree to provide nutritious wet food, adequate shelter, mental stimulation, care and medical attention to this cat at all times, as per the provisions of the Cruelty to Animals Section of the Criminal Code of Canada.
- I agree that I have been provided information about this cat’s medical needs, and the risks of exposure to dry cat food. I will follow a conventional diabetic dosing protocol so long as dry cat food is stored and accessible in the residence.
- I agree to notify Super Senior Cat Sanctuary volunteers immediately if: 1) I change my address at any time 2) if the cat is lost or stolen at any time, or 3) becomes ill within 30 days of the adoption date.
- I am aware that the cat(s) may have past traumas or neglect issues that require patience and understanding I will never verbally or physically harm this creature in any way, or allow others to do so.
- I will not leave the primary care of this cat to a child. The cat’s primary caregiver must be an adult of 18 years or older.
- I agree to provide my veterinarian contact information if requested by Super Senior Cat Sanctuary as concerns this animal, and authorize inquiries of my Veterinarian by Super Senior Cat Sanctuary if there is any dispute as to vaccination or other follow up medical care having taken place.
- I agree and am contractually obligated as follows: I will not subject this cat to any cosmetic or unnecessary surgery including, but not limited to, declawing, ear cropping, tail docking or vocal cord removal, unless directed by a licensed veterinarian for reasons related to the health and welfare of the animal.
- I agree and am contractually obligated as follows: I will keep the cat indoors at all times, unless in a fully enclosed environment such as a cat run/catio and only if this has been discussed with Super Senior Cat Sanctuary as appropriate for the cat I am adopting. I understand this includes open screened windows and balconies.
- I agree and am contractually obligated to never smoke any substance inside the home or near my adopted cat. This includes but is not limited to marijuana, THC, cigarettes, E-cigs, vaping. (This is not applicable to sage burning or smudging).
- I agree to notify Super Senior Cat Sanctuary immediately if I am unable to keep the cat, with the understanding that Super Senior Cat Sanctuary will assist me in finding a new home, or will place the cat in temporary foster care if a new permanent home is not immediately available. I will not place this animal elsewhere without the express permission of Super Senior Cat Sanctuary.
- I agree to accept follow up inquiries on the status of this animal from Super Senior Cat Sanctuary volunteers, and to respond to them in a timely manner.
- I agree that all expenses incurred after I take guardianship of the pets will be my sole responsibility and the Rescue is released from any and all liabilities, whether financially or other.
- Super Senior Cat Sanctuary volunteers cannot guarantee the health, temperament, or behaviour of the animal.
- Adoption fees are not refundable
